Tommy too-too is now two!!! Oh my goodness, let the terrible two's begin (and they have). He is my sweet, darling little boy though. He had a fun and fabulous birthday yesterday with his party today. We didn't do too much on his actual birthday except open presents from us and Grandparents. Thank you Grandparents for the wonderful gifts-they were perfect. Cars from my parents and trains from Tom's parents. It was all Tommy could ever want. We got him a set of blocks and an outdoor Little Tike's basketball hoop.
Poor Tommy had a fairly lame birthday last year because we were 10 days from moving across country. So I wanted to do a big party for him this year and I think I did a pretty good job. I worked super hard yesterday. We invited 7 friends from church (5 of whom could make it) and we did the Disney CARS theme. I did as much cars stuff as I could think of.
We had:
Sandwiches in the shape of cars (and other lunch stuff)
We chalked the driveway with cars, roads, exit signs
Traffic signs I made throughout the party area
Tom and I made cardboard box cars (pictured below) for the kids to race in and play Red light/green light in.
We made car silhouettes (with my cricut!) with flames and lighting bolts to glue on and decorate
We put all of Tommy's car stuff in the center of the floor-that ended up being the most age-appropriate and popular.
The cupcakes were decorated with white frosting, then an oreo, and a gummy life saver on top of that-they looked like tires.
CARS goody bags with the candy race car that I have a picture of just below
So, was all my work worth it?!? Oh absolutely! Tommy saw things as I was getting ready and did his little Tommy jig of joy for everything. He also spent a good portion of the afternoon just wearing his cardboard car. He had a fabulous time at the party. I just loved having everyone over and felt like it was a great way to make/solidify friendships, etc. We had a blast and I love my two year old Tommy.

Happy Birthday Little Man!
Wow, you did way way more than I did for Lillian's 2nd birthday, which consisted of me making homemade mac and cheese.
Yes, you did work hard and it was so awesome! I was just telling my inlaws how fun the party was with the cardboard cars and everything!

You are amazing...ps, you know the last time I saw Samantha, she was like Eliza's age...and so for me, each time I look at Eliza I think--WOW, she looks just like Samantha! So cute!
