I did it! I did it!!

So waaaay back in January I set a New Years resolution to run a 5K. I started this couch to 5K running plan. I was pretty faithful but had a setback in February when I was sick. So I started over again and made it to week six. I would have liked to finish the whole plan before doing it but there are no 5K in my area between now and September (gee I wonder why :)? So I did it!! I ran a 5K. I have friends who run marathons so you know-but I am proud of myself because I put a lot of time and work into it and I actually DID a New Years Resolution. I ran well over half of it consecutively and 30 minutes total. It took me 44 minutes. Oh, and by the way-5K translates into 3.1 miles. I have no idea what place I finished in, just that a septugenarian soundly beat me. Oh well....maybe next time.

Congratulations! I've run two miles 2 or 3 times a week for a long time, but I can't quite make it to 3.1. Maybe I can borrow some of your mojo to help me out.

Great Job! I am currently training to running in a 5K with several members of Blaine's family in July, so I know how difficult it can be.

Good for you! I think a 5K is awesome... I always walk them! :) Marathons seem to be the "it" thing right now. I swear half of my ward is running inthe Chicago one this Fall. But, you will never catch me running one... One knee surgery later and running is no longer something I can fully participate in... too bad!

Oh, and I've heard about the couch to 5K. Was it a good way to go?

That is a great accomplishment!!! Britt and I once tried to run 5Ks for our running work-outs a few times a week; it is hard! Great job! Maybe I'll try more running next year (check our blog for why not this year). :)
PS I think I only ended up running part of one 5K that whole week. :)
