Let's Play!

Memory Game

I got this game from three of my friend's blogs:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

I too remember seeing you at Enrichment night the first time we met. I was so excited to see a young mom with a daughter for Macie to play with. Also...I remember how sweet you were after I had Carsen and you came and got Macie for a few hours to give me a break. So thoughtful and kind.

Just one? Shoot...

Ok, one time in Sunday School (you remember our FABULOUS Sunday School lessons....) the teacher asked a question, and the silence that followed jerked me out of my trance. I leaned over to you and asked what the question was, or what we were supposed to be doing, or whatever, and you said, "I'm not actually listening." Haha!

Going to Busch Gardens will always be one of my favorite memories with you! It was such a fun summer, we were so glad to have such wonderful friends who loved roller coasters as much a we did!

I remember when we were kids, a thousand years ago, and I spent the night. It was raining REALLY hard, and I didn't have my glasses on (my beautiful, coke-bottle glasses - you liked them a lot). I looked out your bedroom window and thought I saw a guy hanging from a tree in the park across from your house. You thought you saw the same thing, too. We were freaked out. In the morning, with me in my glasses and both of us rested, we discovered it was just a broken branch (I think.... that was a long time ago!) Remember?!

I remember several nights of card games with you and Tom. It was so great to play with another couple as competitive as Blaine and I were. It made for some very interesting and fun games.

You serving me by insisting on coming over to my house and cleaning my bathroom after I had Adam. My mom was even there to "help," but you came and cleaned anyway which was absolutely heaven! I desperately needed it. You've been dear to my heart ever since! And since then I've tried to emulate that service quality of yours of doing what people really would like rather than what you feel like giving.

I remember when you lived in Anaheim and I came to sleep over at your house. Your mom had me read books and record them onto cassettes for you and Erin. You thought they were so cool and it was fun to read with you.

I also love it when you're at family gatherings, it's nice to always have someone who "gets" you at those huge things. I loved babysitting Samantha for you--it was the thing that made me feel like I could handle having two kids.

I will always remember how truly sincere your thanks and gratitude are. It is so refreshing to know someone who really appreciates service and friendship. I loved having many of our candid conversations. I thank you, too.
